Tour The Lodge
Many of you have met Gypsy. She is the Tervuren puppy we got at Christmas. She is absolutely delightful, but it took a long 6 weeks to trust that she was housebroken enough to allow her out of the kitchen. The problem was that I was barricaded in the kitchen with her all that time.
We never had a bar in any of our other houses. We have wanted one for years. My Aunt and Uncle had one in their house, and after that first visit – we have wanted one ever since. They lived in a modest home, nothing special about it at all, just a plain vanilla house….
Most couples go to dinner or see a movie for entertainment. We create and build stuff. It is how we spend our free time. We get dressed in our finest paint stained clothes and begin our latest creation. As crazy as it sounds – it is our entertainment! It is our drug. And we are both addicted!
How could we have not seen this? We walk up and down these steps several times a day. Our guests have been up and down these steps dozens of times. They have been so kind to not mention the ugliness of all that splintery wood on our banister. But now I think I understand the requests for the bandaids.
It was a combination of rough and splintered 2×4’s, some 2×2’s and pieces of scrap fence panel.
Less is more.
This statement really hits the nail on the head in the case of our Sunroom. It is the smallest room in the house, but it packs the mightiest wallop.
The minute you step inside – you are surrounded by nature. You will see the entire outdoors in every direction. It was a white winter wonderland. It was the first snowfall of the season.
