Lost Mule Lodge

… a journey that began with a cabin in the woods

Hey there!  Thank you for waiting…  you surely noticed I am a day late on getting this out to you…right, you did notice, right?

I am going to pretend that you are saying, Oh my gosh I was so worried, where have you been, are you alright??

…  that sounds good, I’m going to go with that.

Below is last weekends project.  We used old pallet wood and a metal Indian headdress from Hobby Lobby.  I smudged some craft paint on the metal headdress to make it POP against the wood.  It is proudly hanging in the Indian Shadows Guest Room waiting to welcome our Thanksgiving visitors.

Before this blog learned to crawl, it was a bit of a challenge getting all the sparkle and polish right where it was needed.

The day it went live was cause for REAL celebration.

Then before I knew it, this little blog began to waddle and soon it started skipping, ripping off its diaper and running along laughing and the sun was shining and the birds were singing, people were cheering it on – all was glorious.

 – until about 3 days ago – Thanks to a spinning beachball,  I was faced with deleting thousands of photos.

Yikes!

It took me 3 days and 2 very sweaty palms to be absolutely certain all those precious photos were securely saved in some imaginary cloud and then… GULP… deleted.

Today is a new day and I am thrilled to be back in the saddle.

A couple of weeks ago you got a peek at the Indian Shadows Guest Room with the Almost Famous Bunkbeds.  Today you are seeing the companion bath, they pair nicely together.

In honor of the Full Moon and the Indian Shadows Guest Room and Bath, I have a fabulous list for you.  This is a list of American Indian names for the full moon of each month.

As you read them you realize how in tune they were with their Mother Earth.

January – Wolf Moon

February – Snow Moon

March – Worm Moon

April – Fish Moon or Sprouting Grass Moon

May – Flower Moon

June – Strawberry Moon

July – Buck Moon

August – Sturgeon Moon

September – Harvest Moon

October – Hunters Moon

November – Frost Moon

December – Cold Moon

It is still believed by many that there is great power in the full moon.  There is something mystical when the moon beams cast shadows.

You fabulous people enjoy this great day and raise a glass to that moon!   Cheers!

I love your metaphors for things! They make me smile. In fact I think every one of your posts makes me smile. Thank you for that!

Another wonderful read and beautiful room! That Indian headdress is a very cool addition to the Indian Shadows Guest Room…especially how you made it your own special design.
